Ramazing!! I’ve had the pleasure of trekking with Ram from Himalayan Friendly twice-once in Langtang and once on the Annapurna Circuit-and both experiences were outstanding.What sets Ram apart is his easygoing and customer-driven approach. He is always present and attentive without ever being intrusive. Ram’s style is quiet and friendly, but he’s also consistently observant, making sure everyone is comfortable and safe throughout the trek.Logistics, safety, and planning were all handled seamlessly. Ram is a great source of local knowledge and always keeps himself updated with the latest information from locals along the route. This meant that we always felt secure and well-prepared, no matter the circumstances.Cultural insights and local knowledge were always available. Ram is happy to answer any questions and share his deep understanding of the region, but he never overwhelms you with information unless you ask. This made the experience feel very personal and tailored to our interests.Himalayan Friendly’s support was excellent from start to finish. Slow trekking in the beautiful Langtang Valley with Ram I loved my recent trip to the Langtang Valley. This was my first trip to Nepal and to altitude so I wanted to be flexible and take extra days rather than rushing a trek. Ram was very accommodating and organised transport and sleeping bag before we left Kathmandu. After a couple of days Ram could fairly easily estimate how long we would take at my slow walking speed and made sure we went at my pace. Binod was a great help in his first time as a porter. Not just carrying my pack but always friendly and sharing an encouraging smile or helping if I needed anything in the tea houses. Both Binod and Ram were quick to lend a hand to navigate tricky terrain and both assisted on a long day where I was feeling unwell. Langtang Valley itself is stunning and well worth the visit. It would be great to spend more time rather than rushing to complete a walk. Rather than starting in Syabrubesi we began in the tiny Lingling, then walked to Sherpagaon via Bridhim before joining the main track at Rimche. On our way back down we followed the main track via Bamboo and finishing in Syabrubesi. I’m hoping one day I’ll return to Nepal and be able to meet again with Ram and Binod.

Amazing trip with Ram on the Langtang My partner and I from Australia had an amazing trek on the Langtang with Ram from Himalayan Friendly. Ram communicated with us before the trip and helped us work out the gear we needed and organised us some sleeping bags. Ram meet us at the airport and from then onwards we received top quality and friendly service for the next 10 days. Ram has the best energy, he is so nice to spend time with and is very easy going. He allowed us to set our own pace, and the food, beverages and all the tea houses we stayed at were fantastic. The tea houses at Langtang and Kyanjin Gompa were our favourites, they were such nice places and a great vibe from the owners. In terms of the Langtang Trek itself, I would 100% recommend it to anyone considering it. It a beautiful valley with impressive mountain valleys and high elevation viewpoints to challenge yourselves with. Himalayan Friendly was the best choice for us, we whole heartedly recommend them for any trekking requirements, they have years of experience and amazing customer service solely focused on you and ensuring your trip is the best it can be!!! The Best Experience Ever!!!! My partner & I did the Langtang trek with Ram at Himalayan Friendly in October 2024. It was one of the most beautiful travel experiences I’ve ever had. Ram had everything taken care of, from airport pick ups, lovely hotel, great day in Kathmandu to bus ride to the start of trek. From there the beauty of nature takes your breath away. Ram was the most gentle, kind, calm yet strong guide. We felt so relaxed and at peace in his company and he was so intuitive to our needs. The tea houses he chose were wonderful, the whole experience was five star. I had tears saying goodbye. Ram and his porter Abhishek felt more like friends by the end of the journey. Langtang Valley adventure I was hesitant about organising a guide for our Langtang Valley hiking adventure, but I should not have been uneasy. Ram was a delightful, kind, and a genuine guide who gave us the space we needed but was never too far away if needed. Ram is a local guide (hired the porters from his village) with lots of knowledge to share about the region, hiking high altitudes, fauna, and animals. My son was very lucky to see a snow leopard cub whilst hiking to Tsergo from Kyanjin Gompa. Highly recommend at least 2 days stay at Kyanjin Gompa. Langtang magic Our trip up the Langtang Valley was wonderful - truly one of the most amazing holidays and hiking experiences of my life. Rhododendrons and blossoms were flowering; the river valley was beautiful, and the mountains were breathtaking. Guesthouses, stupas, prayer wheels, yaks, donkeys and lots of great conversations at every stop. Ram was a great guide, kind, funny, well organised, always nearby and around but also creating lots of space for each of us to craft the experience we wanted. He made everything seamless and easy from the minute he met us at the airport to supporting people in our group to choose different peaks to walk from Kaijin Gompa depending on their comfort at altitude and energy. A trip of a lifetime with Ram 6 of us travelled to Nepal together - 3 mums and our 15 year old teens. We wanted to find a guide that knew their stuff, was there to help us when needed but gave us our own space do as we wanted and be together. It’s hard to work all of that out from Australia over the internet. When we first arrived in Kathmandu, we saw other guides and their clients in restaurants. The guides were pushy insisting they wear their company merch and the guides were in their face the whole meal. It looked awkward and uncomfortable. We grew nervous, then the next day we met Ram and our fears evaporated. He was kind, curious about what we wanted and clearly there to serve. He had a huge smile that set us at ease and nothing that we asked was too much trouble. He’d arranged our porters, all equally lovely people and a jeep to get us to the start of the trek in a more comfortable (and much faster) fashion than the bus. We went to the Lang Tang region for the trek. Ram walked behind us like a Shepard leaving lots of space so we never felt rushed. If we stopped, he stopped a little down the path. He was so patient and would check in with us regularly to make sure everyone was ok. I was hit with a bit of altitude sickness and he was there on the ready with anything I needed. Ram was an expert in almost any topic we asked him about in Nepal and this list was long - flora, fauna, earthquakes, geography, culture, distance, time, ingredients, plumbing, the list goes on!The Lang Tang region was wonderful and we had an amazing time. I’m sure you would on any trek and Ram and his team do them all. It can be hard to work out who to choose when you look online. All I can say really is that Ram is a very good choice and supporting small businesses in the Nepalese economic environment is more important than any of us westerns will ever know.

Everest region. Three Passes trek. In November I completed the Three High Passes trek with Ram. It took us 22 days with additional side trips. It was my first visit to Nepal and I was looking for reliable, experienced guide. Ram was a true professional and I would highly recommend him. He shared many facts about the area and local culture, and answered all my questions. He also helped to organise flights and arrange lodges which removed all the unnecessary stress. I have just returned from the Langtang Gosaikunda hike with Ram and our porter Prakash. I am so pleased with how the hike went and how we were looked after by Ram and Prakash. Ram is friendly and easy going with a lot of experience in the mountains. He met us at the airport where we were welcomed with flower garlands. My partner and I did the Manaslu trek with Ram as a guide. It was an amazing adventure with many (literally) breathtaking views. Ram helped us actively with preparing for the trek, which was very helpful. Also during the trek he was a reliable, thoughtful and flexible guide, who let us decide our own pace and ittinary. He even brought fruit for the entire 14 days of the trek! If you are looking for a guide who is engaging in deep conversations at lunch/dinner and tells you everything there is to know about the Manaslu surroundings, Ram might not be the most straightforward option. We, a family of four with two young children (8 and 5 years old), recently completed the Langtang Valley Trek and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the very beginning, our guide, Ram, was exceptional. He went above and beyond, providing airport pickup and assisting us in purchasing the necessary hiking gear. He even provided us with down jackets and sleeping bags, ensuring we were well-equipped for the cold December trek. I recently had a great trek in the Langtang Valley with Ram as my guide and Binod as my porter. Ram was great with a flexible trek to go at my own slow pace and to enjoy the scenery and environment. I felt secure with Ram in tackling challenging parts of the trail. We met in Kathmandu before the trek and travelled by private jeep to and from the trail, organised by Ram. We had an unconvential starting point for our trek and we all adapted to the change. It was great to see some of the quieter villages and teahouses off the main Langtang Valley trail. It was a highlight to visit Kyanjin Gompa and I really loved the teahouse in Langtang. Afternoons taking photos, resting, or drinking tea with a book were great ways to relax.
