Manaslu circuit trek is a great tea-house trek and often considered a great alternative to the Annapurna Circuit. This trek takes you to the base camp of Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m/26,781 ft), the eighth highest mountain the world. We trek around Manaslu region passing through amazing landscapes, traditional bridges, scintillating scenery of snowcapped peaks, picturesque local villages and much more.

Summary of Manaslu Circuit Trek Journey 

The first day is scheduled for us to drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola from where we start our trek the next day. From Soti Khola, we trek through the beautiful Sal forest, rocky trails, amazing valleys and Gurung village of Labubesi passing views of stunning landscapes, cascading waterfalls on a steep, rice terraces, etc to reach Maccha Khola village where we stay overnight that day. From Maccha Khola, we trek to come across a small Hotspring in Tatopani and then cross Budhi Gandaki on a suspension bridge and trek to reach the village of Jagat. Then, we continue our trek to reach the tiny village of Deng. From there, we pass through the forest and trek to reach Namrung village from where we can enjoy outstanding views of peaks like Siring, Ganesh Himal and Mt. Himal Chuli. We continue our trek to reach Samagaon passing through several local villages on our way. Spending a day at Samagaon village for rest and acclimatization, you get an opportunity to immerse yourself in Tibetan culture and visit Pungyen Gompa, an old monastery resting on a little hill near the village from where you can enjoy great views of the glacier. From Samagaon, we can witness an amazing close-up view of the mountain. We trek to reach Samdo where we spend a day and continue our trek the next day to reach Dharamsala where we stay overnight. Dharamsala (also called Larke Phedi) is not a lodge but a traditional stone guest house. From there, we trek through Bimthang, Tilije, Tal, Syange and we finally reach Kathmandu passing through several villages enjoying the views of peaks, glaciers, and stunning landscapes. It takes 5 days for us to reach Kathmandu from Dharamsala on the trek. After reaching Kathmandu, we celebrate the success of our journey and you will depart the next day.

Best Time to go for Manaslu Circuit Trek

The best season to trek Manaslu is October / November or March until May. If you want to enjoy a less crowded and a unique trek, you should consider Manaslu Circuit as long as it is not commercialized. For sure Manaslu Circuit will face a continuous increase of tourist within the next 2 – 3 years.

Kathmandu to Sotikhola

We also offer a 4×4 jeep for the drive to Sotikhola which is known as the Starting trekking point of Manaslu Region. It bounces you more of a fortuitous of getting over the unforgettably last kilometers of the road from Dhading Besi. The journey is only 7 to 8 hours’ drive. Meals/Accommodation

You will found extensive ranges of meals. Three meals per day (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner). The meals include noodles, soups, handmade bread, rice items, curries, spaghetti, pizza, egg items, and potatoes. All the meals will be served in lodges. Generally, dinner and breakfast are served in a lodge and lunch is served during the trek. You will have full possibilities or choices to choose your favored stuff from a minor menu provided by the lodge.

The Manaslu region can be considered the best region for trekking in Nepal in terms of accommodation as we will manage the best accommodation for you(Our Guest). We can find some hotels having basic rooms, normally just a bed with a pillow and blankets with electric lights and all have a spacious dining room-lounge.  Nowadays in the new constructions, we can find involved bathrooms as well. Mostly the lodges in Manaslu have a small room with 2 Single Beds.

Footwear

Trekking boots, trekking socks, and sandals.

Clothing: 

Down jacket, waterproof jacket, and trousers, trekking trousers, long sleeve shirts, microfleece, mid to heavyweight fleece, sleeveless or body warmer type fleece, thermals or base layer for top & bottom (merino wool or synthetic), fleece pants,

Handwear:

fleece gloves warm mittens and/or gloves.

Headwear: Sun hat, wool or fleece hat, scarf, head torch and extra batteries for incase, and sunglasses.

Personal Equipment:

Day backpack large enough to carry water bottles, camera, lunch and extra clothing, stuff sacks for keeping your gear dry and organized, two water bottles (Nalgene wide-mouth bottles are the best), sunscreen and lip salve with a high SPF, insect repellent, water purification tablets (Pristine, Box Aqua or Aqua Mira), iPod and cards etc., trekking poles, camera with spare batteries and memory cards, insurance certificate.

Personal first aid kit:

Small personal first-aid kit. (Simple and light), Aspirin, first-aid tape, plasters (Band-Aids), 1 skin-blister repair kit Anti-diarrhea pills, Anti-headache pills, Cough and/or cold medicine, Anti-altitude sickness pills: Diamox or Acetylzolamide, Stomach antibiotic: Ciprofloxacin, etc. Do not bring sleeping pills as they are a respiratory depressant, Water purification tablets or water filter, 1 set of earplugs, Extra pair of prescription glasses and contact lens supplies.
