Upper Mustang is a remote, isolated and one of the most preserved regions in the world situated in the northern part of Mustang district in the Himalayan region of Nepal. Many tourists from all across the globe reach Upper Mustang to get deep insights into unexploited Tibetan culture and lifestyle of local people. The was restricted demilitarized area until 1992, which is the reason for the region to be unexploited and preserved till now. Reaching the Upper Mustang is not only the highlight of this trek. The highlight is the whole trek which is a journey through different stunning landscapes with spectacular views of snowcapped mountains, glaciers, alpine valleys, amazing rocks and much more to reach one of the isolated regions in the world i.e. Upper Mustang.

Upper Mustang trek package of 17 days to get exhilarating trekking experience with a well-managed itinerary. After your arrival in Kathmandu and your reception at the airport, you are transferred to the hotel in Kathmandu. The next day is scheduled for us to visit UNESCO’s world heritage sites in Kathmandu and to have a pre-trip meeting. On the third day, we have to reach Pokhara, the beautiful city of lakes from Kathmandu either by 30 minutes flight or 6-hour drive, whatever you prefer. Pokhara is a popular tourist destination and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. You will be fascinated by the mountainous views and beautiful lakes of the city. After we reach Pokhara, we take a flight to Jomsom from where our trekking begins. From Jomsom (the district headquarters of Mustang), we trek to Kagbeni which is a charming village in Upper Mustang. Kagbeni is so rich in Tibetan culture that you don’t have to go to Tibet to get insights into Tibetan culture. From Kagbeni, we trek through Chele, Samar, and Ghiling to reach Ghami village. From there, we trek to Charang crossing the river and then we trek to enter Lo Manthang, the hidden valley of Mustang. Lo Manthang was the capital of the former Kingdom of Lo and the culture and tradition of this valley are still untouched, unexploited and preserved. It is the trade route between Tibet and Nepal. You get to witness the traditional way of trade there using mule. We trip to Garphu cave and view amazing Lo Manthang valley from there and get back to the valley where we stay overnight. The next day, we trek to Drakmar, Samar and then to Kagbeni. From there, we trek back to Jomsom, fly back to Pokhara and then Kathmandu from where you can depart for your onward destination.

This trekking offers so much. You should really join this trek when Upper Mustang is still unexploited.     Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu. You will be warm welcome by our airport representative and escort to your hotel. Stay Overnight at hotel Kathmandu.

    Today; it is rest day, or preparation. We get permits and arrange rest of things for our trek to Annapurna Circuit Trek

    After breakfast, drive to Pokhara -one of the most attractive valleys in Nepal, 200 km west fromKathmandu, 6 hour drive, under the shadow of the Annapurna Himalayan range. A rare grouping of snow-clad mountains, mineral clear lakes, watercourses, villages inhabited by welcoming ethnic tribes. Pokhara is a resort city of remarkable beauty.

    Early morning after breakfast, take a domestic flight to Jomsom. The pleasing flight offer you
    magnificent views of the mountain, scenic surrounding, and vibrant villages below you. As you reach to Jomsom, we start trek to Kagbeni which is the main entrance to Upper mustang. Overnight stay at Local Guest Houses.

    Our journey starts with a distinctive permit checkup and ahead to the riverbank of Kaligandaki
    up stream. Throughout the walk we have scenic place to stop through the sandy and windy trails. This trails follows the up and downhill. Initially we will reach at Tangbe village with harvests field. From here we trek forward to Chhusang later ½ hour walk and crossing the river head up to the huge red chunk of conglomerate that has fallen from the cliff above, founding a
    tunnel through which the Kaligandaki follows. We skull on to minor ridges reach at Chele village. Overnight stay at Local Guest Houses.

    Wake up early in the morning after breakfast, we start to trek to Geling from Chele along the
    side of a spectacular steep canyon to a pass a rock cairn at 3540m. The trail endures through another valley field, crosses a stream and climbs up to a ridge at 3800m and descends to Syangmochen. From here, we softly climb to a pass at 3770m and descend into Geling Village. Overnight stay at Local Guest Houses.

    Wake up early in the morning, after having breakfast we start to trek to Charang by crossing the Ghami khola. We talk through a very long Mani Wall which is the wall made by the Stones printed with Busshist Mantras. From there we heads east to Charang Village which is famous for Monasteries and Thangkas. Overnight stay at Local Guest Houses.

    Today after breakfast, we start to trek to Lo- Manthang. On the way we can observe the
    beautiful views of Mountains like Nilgiri, Tilcho, Annapurna I, and the Bhrikuti. The trail to Lo-Manthang is well-distinct with some slight climbing. We will badge the walled city of Lo sidewaysthe trial, then we descent and cross the brook. After crossing brook we climb to the plateau of Lo-Manthang. Overnight stay at Local Guest Houses.

    A day is fewer to explore this outstanding historical and ethnic center. Kimling and Phuwa are stimulating as well as the Gompa of Namgyal serve as an important monastery of the native civic. Short Hike to Tingkhar, a village of about 40 houses, the last main village to the northwest of Lo-Mangthang is charming. In the eastern valley huddles the village of Chosar; which is richin Gompas, this valley is the main interchange route to Lhasa. Visit the Lofty Champa Lakhang “God house”, the red Thugchen Gomba, Chyodi Gomba and the Entrance Hall which are the
    main charm of lo Mangthang Trip. Overnight stay at Local Guest Houses.

    After breakfast start trek to Drakmar through the trail south to Tsarang, turn southwest along an unclear trail that badges the irrigated fields of the city. After Lo Gekar, the trail climbs steeply to a cairn on a pass at 4000m, posing a last hint of Lo Manthang. Annoyed the Chogo La (4325m), the uppermost point on this trek. The trail makes slope beside a stream visiting ancient Ghar Gompa more than 1200 years old and meet the Guru Rimponche. Ascent to a ridge, the route
    marks some alpine fields to a top and then drops down a steep worn gully overshadowed by red rock towers to Drakmar. Overnight stay at Local Guest Houses

    After breakfast, we start trek to Shyangmochen, passing the stone walls and fields of Drakmar before climbing to an edge. It further slopes to the lower part of Ghami and then to Jaite (3820m), dipping again to Chhung-Kah. We stay continue to Tama Gaon (3710m) and down to Shyangmochen. Overnight stay at Local Guest Houses.

    The trail trekking back to Chhuksang is easy working down liking the Tibetan life style and
    culture. You will have delightful scenery and the astonishing views of Nilgiri, Tilicho and others marvelous Himalayan peaks. Overnight stay at Local Guest Houses.

    Today is the special day as you trek to one of the most holy pilgrimage chairs for Hindus andBuddhists, the Muktinath Temple. This route is also very prevalent for the plentiful “Saligram”. Overnight stay at Local Guest Houses.

    After breakfast we start to trek to Muktinath which is one of the most important destinations for the hindus Pilgrims. There are 108 waterspouts esoteric the temple where pilgrims take a holy bath. From Muktinath, you can enjoy superb views of the Dhaulagiri mountain range. Incline and cross the Kaligandaki Valley passing the Kagbeni village before we reach Jomsom. Overnight in
    a tea house in Jomsom.

    Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara [Around 25mins]. Early morning after breakfast, take a domestic flight to Pokhara. The pleasing flight offer you magnificent views of the mountain, scenic surrounding, and vibrant villages below you. As you reach to Pokhara, one of the Hotel staff pick you from the airport and transfer you to the Hotel. Rest of the time free for your Personal activities.

    After breakfast, you will drive back to Kathmandu where you can devote the rest of the day calming or souvenir shopping before dinner.

    Our office Representative will drop you at international airport and see you off. Fly back to homeor further destination.

Meals

Annapurna Trekking Region is one of the most popular trekking regions of Nepal. You will found extensive ranges of meals. Three meals per day (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner). The meals include noodles, soups, handmade bread, rice items, curries, spaghetti, pizza, egg items, and potatoes. All the meals will be served in lodges. Generally, dinner and breakfast are served in a lodge and lunch is served during the trek. You will have full possibilities or choices to choose your favored stuff from a minor menu provided by the lodge.

Accommodation

The Annapurna region can be considered the best region for trekking in Nepal Himalayan Friendly will provide the best accommodation for our guests in this Trekking area. The following list should help you with your packing. Generally, you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum

Footwear

Trekking boots, trekking socks, and sandals.

Clothing: 

Down jacket, waterproof jacket, and trousers, trekking trousers, long sleeve shirts, microfleece, mid to heavyweight fleece, sleeveless or body warmer type fleece, thermals or base layer for top & bottom (merino wool or synthetic), fleece pants,

Handwear:

fleece gloves warm mittens and/or gloves.

Headwear:

Sun hat, wool or fleece hat, scarf, head torch and extra batteries for incase, and sunglasses.

Personal Equipment:

Day backpack large enough to carry water bottles, camera, lunch and extra clothing, stuff sacks for keeping your gear dry and organized, two water bottles (Nalgene wide-mouth bottles are the best), sunscreen and lip salve with a high SPF, insect repellent, water purification tablets (Pristine, Box Aqua or Aqua Mira), iPod and cards etc., trekking poles, camera with spare batteries and memory cards, insurance certificate.

Personal first aid kit:

Small personal first-aid kit. (Simple and light), Aspirin, first-aid tape, plasters (Band-Aids), 1 skin-blister repair kit Anti-diarrhea pills, Anti-headache pills, Cough and/or cold medicine, Anti-altitude sickness pills: Diamox or Acetylzolamide, Stomach antibiotic: Ciprofloxacin, etc. Do not bring sleeping pills as they are a respiratory depressant, Water purification tablets or water filter, 1 set of earplugs, Extra pair of prescription glasses and contact lens supplies.
